Hi Bulldogs, I'm so excited to start our new year. Here are a couple of things to get us started. I'm working with a new website so some of it is active and some is under construction. Please read the handbook and see that you have all the required items for class and your concert uniform. We will order polo's in September.
Remember to NOT bring your instrument to school until the 2nd day of class. 7th/8th graders i will not have your lockers ready until Thursday. 7th graders be ready to warm up and start work for our performance at the Washington State Fair on Friday, September 21. I will need chaperones so parents please email me and fill out the volunteer paperwork ASAP. Incoming 6th graders have until September 17th to have everything you need for class (but you can bring it earlier if you have it.) You will be using a new book called Sound Innovations for String Orchestra by Phillips/Boonshaft/Sheldon, Book 1 (get the one for your instrument). You can order this online or get at your local music store. We will talk in class about where to rent an instrument (a list is under the documents and also in the handbook) Cello/bass students remember to rent an instrument to practice on at home, don't bring this to school. You will get the school rental forms for the classroom cello/bass in the first couple days of class. If you have any financial issues with any of the things required for class don't hesitate to email me so we can work out a plan. Looking forward to seeing you all on September 5th, 2018. Marianna J.
